Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) will find himself in hot water in EastEnders later this month as part of a new story that will serve as his exit.

It was confirmed earlier this year that Ben would be written out, with series star Max Bowden having already filmed his final scenes, set to depart after five years in Walford.

Fans have been speculating how exactly the popular character will leave the Square, and newly-released short spoilers for w/c Monday March 25, available to view on the BBC One website, have offered up a taste of what’s to come.

And it’s not looking good for Ben!

According to the spoilers, the young mechanic attempts to fix one issue but soon finds himself in trouble as another arises, with subsequent scenes seeing him in very ‘hot water’.

But just what does this mean?

Fans will have to wait until more detailed spoilers become available next week but it’s looking like a brush with the law might be on the cards.

The episodic description for Thursday of the week in question confirms that Ben’s husband Callum Highway (Tony Clay), who is a detective, will use his job to his advantage.

Following reports of Max’s departure in December, an EastEnders spokesperson confirmed the exit to Metro.co.uk, as they said: ‘Max will be leaving EastEnders next year. We wish him all the best for the future.’

Ben was recently seen offering advice to Johnny Carter (Charlie Suff), promising to help him get rid of Dean Wicks (Matt Di Angelo) should the opportunity to do so arise.

Callum, who knew Johnny previously due to his association with the Carter family, also vowed to help, albeit by using legal methods.

TENSIONS are building up between Jean Slater and Dean Wicks, despite her agreeing to some kind of truce for Jade’s benefit.

Next week, the EastEnders favourite has an enlightening chat with one of Dean’s enemies and makes a huge discovery.

The cleaner portrayed by Gillian Wright was delighted to see Jade Green return to Albert Square, years after leaving with her mother Shabnam Masood, one of Jean’s pals.

In an attempt to protect her for absent Shabnam, Jean decided to get closer to Jade, which led the teen’s father Dean Wicks (Matt Di Angelo) to believe he’d finally found an ally in Walford.

Jean made it clear to Dean she only wants to take care of Jade for Shabnam and his mother, another one of her close friends, Shirley Carter.

For Jade, Jean has been ready to keep the peace with Dean, although she heard through the grapevine that he once raped LinLinda Carter (Kellie Bright) and tried to sexually assault Roxy Mitchell.

Coming up on BBC One, Jean realises the biggest danger around Jade is her own father Dean.

It all begins with Jean picking out a venue for Jade’s fundraiser and she settles on The Queen Vic.

She is then surprised when Linda agrees to welcome Jade’s event in her pub but there’s one condition Jean needs to keep in mind – Dean isn’t allowed to attend.

Back at Dean’s place, Jean is terrified when Jade (Elizabeth Green) has a bad coughing fit and she calls the doctor, much to his horror.

Things only get worse when Jade takes a look at his phone.

Regular viewers of the London-based program will remember that Dean hatched a shock plan to keep Jade close to him and avoid her from leaving for Pakistan with her mother Shabnam.

But will what Jade find on his phone be in relation to his plan?

Dean has a lot of explaining to do as Jade and Jean confront him about dodging Shabnam’s calls and texts.

He manages to persuade them that he’s been putting his head in the sand and avoiding Shabnam.

Jade wonders why as she points out that her mother knows she’s still too ill to go to Pakistan.

In later scenes, Jade asks Dean if she can go to the fundraiser at The Vic, but he insists that he’ll only let her if she’s well enough.

Jade remains completely unaware that Dean is tampering with her antibiotics to keep her by his side.

Johnny Carter (Charlie Suff) taunts Dean about being banned from Jade’s fundraiser, making him determined to find a way to get there.

After resorting to his devious tricks and successfully manipulating Jean and Harvey Monroe (Ross Boatman), Dean arrives at The Vic.

All hell is about to break loose when Jade begs Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) just to let him see her speech.

As they wait for her big moment, Dean begs Jade to stay with him in London, but she insists she needs to go to Pakistan and be with Shabnam.

Shabnam and Jade Leave Albert Square

Things go from bad to worse as Linda is furious to see Dean in her bar and she rushes upstairs, with Jean right behind her.

While there, an emotional Linda makes Jean see that Dean is playing her, prompting the cleaner to return downstairs to order him to leave.

How will Dean react?

Could history repeat itself as Dean runs the risk of being booted out of Walford again?
