Viewers of the BBC soap EastEnders will know that during last night’s episode (Wednesday, March 6), Zack tried to kiss Lauren.

With Whitney still in Milton Keynes with Bianca and Britney, Zack turned to Lauren for support.

EastEnders fans have now predicted two new love interests for Zack as Whitney prepares to exit the soap.

EastEnders: Zack tried to kiss Lauren

Last night in Walford, Zack told Penny, Lauren and Sonia that he’d returned home without Whitney.

He needed to return back to work whilst Whitney stayed in Milton Keynes looking after Britney.

Drowning his sorrows in The Vic, Zack opened up to Penny about his upset over Whitney’s decision.

After this, Zack bumped into Lauren and soon started opening up to her as well.

However, he misread the signals whilst drunk and leaned in to kiss Lauren. Lauren rejected him, stunned by his actions.

It wasn’t long after this that Whitney started to call Zack’s mobile…

EastEnders fan theory: Zack set for new love triangle?

With Whitney soon set to be leaving the soap, a new EastEnders fan theory has spotted two new possible connections for Zack.

They think that he’ll soon be placed at the centre of a love triangle – with Lauren and Penny

Spotting some flirtation between Zack and the two women, one fan wrote: “Saw this Lauren-Zack-Penny love triangle coming a mile off as Zack’s storyline when Whitney’s gone.”

Is a love triangle on the way for Zack?

Zack’s begged Whitney to put their little family first but she’s been keen on prioritising Britney instead.

With Whit set to depart Walford rather soon, will Zack find his next love in either Penny or Lauren?

EastEnders has revealed the outcome of Zack Hudson’s shocking move on Lauren Branning in the show’s latest episode.

Zack’s relationship with his partner Whitney has reached crisis point this week due their very different ideas over the future.

While Whitney has shared her hopes of fostering troubled youngster Britney – who she met during their stay in Milton Keynes – Zack wants them both to return to Walford and focus on their own unborn child.

With Whitney refusing to leave Milton Keynes, Zack headed home alone – much to the confusion of their friends.

As a downbeat Zack caught up with Lauren and Penny on Whitney’s stall, Sonia was unimpressed to learn that he had left Whitney at Bianca’s after everything that had happened.

Lauren was subsequently shocked to learn about the accident her friend had while she was there and that Whitney was 28-weeks pregnant.

She later grew concerned about Zack, who was struggling with the growing distance between him and Whitney.

When Zack failed to get hold of Whitney himself, Lauren contacted her instead and explained that she was concerned about Zack’s state of mind.

Despite this, Whitney told Lauren that she was planning to stay at Bianca’s for the foreseeable.

Zack, meanwhile, proceeded to get drunk with Penny, much to Lauren’s frustration.

Lauren eventually decided to intervene and attempted to sober Zack up.

As they chatted, Lauren shared some kind words with Zack but things turned awkward when he misread the situation and tried to kiss her.

Horrified, Lauren immediately recoiled and rushed off, just as Zack finally received a long-awaited call from Whitney. But will Lauren tell Whitney what happened?

EastEnders has been criticised over its portrayal of Milton Keynes.

Recent episodes have seen Bianca Jackson return to our screens after step-daughter Whitney Dean and her partner Zack Hudson visited, following her split from long-term partner Terry Spraggan.

Scenes set in the city saw a brick thrown through Bianca’s window during an argument, and another character was described as “roaming the estate, carting drugs around, and eating out of bins” rather than being in school.

“We’ll leave it up to a fictional soap opera to choose how they want to depict Milton Keynes,” a spokesperson for Destination Milton Keynes, the area’s official tourism service, told BBC News.

“But we know it to be a thriving, multi-cultural community with more than 6,000 acres of free green spaces for residents and visitors to enjoy and with a booming visitor economy worth over £230m a year.

“[The city] regularly features as one of the fastest-growing and most prosperous cities in the UK.”

Ben Everitt, the MP for Milton Keynes North, said he was also unhappy with the “out of order” portrayal and would be contacting producers of the soap.

“Producers owe an apology to the people of Milton Keynes for this negative portrayal,” he said, noting that he wanted “the good side” of the city to be reflected, too.

“Like every city, we have parts that aren’t as good as the others, but the characterisation is completely out of order,” he added.

Digital Spy has reached out to EastEnders for comment.

The episodes aired as part of Whitney’s exit storyline, after Shona McGarty announced her decision to leave the soap last July.

Whitney found herself trying to help a young child called Britney with her difficult home life after discovering that she hasn’t gone to school since 2020.

Things escalated for Whitney when Britney runs away, causing a confrontation between a pregnant Whitney and Britney’s mum.

Explaining the storyline, McGarty said: “Keeley hasn’t been looking after her at all and Whitney feels incredibly sorry for her. She tries to help her and wants to take her under her wing. Britney reminds Whitney of herself at that age.”

Following the showdown between Whitney and Keeley, which led to Whitney being hit by a car and hospitalised, McGarty revealed Zack’s feelings about the situation.

“Zack is so annoyed with Whitney,” McGarty admitted. “Obviously Zack was fostered so he has an understanding, but he’s just so concerned about this baby that he goes back to the Square without Whitney and Whitney makes Britney her main priority instead of Zack which is quite sad.”
