EastEnders: The New Fasting Works Wonder for Danny!

The EastEnders icon chatted with the Daily Mirror about his new routine, dropping instructions on how to do it right. He revealed, “Ideally, you should break your fast with something healthy. Sometimes, for me, that has been a pint of Stella.” Anyway, Danny is gearing up to join the celebrity edition of The Great British Bake Off for Stand Up to Cancer.

While filming, the EastEnders star remained unfazed by the sweet treats surrounding the baking tent. It is because Dyer is more of a savoury guy. He said, “I don’t mind a bit of chocolate now and then, but I am not really a sweet man.” However, Danny did ditch his fasting for a day as he needed to eat some breakfast.

The actor required energy on the first day of filming. Nevertheless, he usually waits for his first meal until the afternoon or evening. It does work for him! Recently, the EastEnders legend was spotted shooting a brawl sequence for his upcoming venture, Marching Powder. The project is considered a follow-up to Football Factory and is expected to up the ante on crime and violence.

Additionally, Danny expressed delight to reunite with Football Factory director Nick Love for this gritty gig. He teased, “‘We’re gonna be bang on the marching powder; that’s the name of the film, by the way.” Back to EastEnders, his character had a dramatic exit in 2022. Mick vanished at sea. EastEnders star Danny Dyer has opened up about losing weight through intermittent fasting.

The acting legend, who played Mick Carter in the BBC One soap, has lost a stone through the diet plan, which involves not eating at specific times of the day.

Danny, 46, said ‘I’ve lost about a stone. For eight hours I can eat and drink what I want as long as I fast for 16 hours and drink water too.

‘People have come up to me and said it doesn’t work for them and I tell them they must be cheating.

Continuing his chat with the Daily Mirror, he said: ‘Ideally, you should break your fast with something healthy. Sometimes for me that has been a pint of Stella, which isn’t ideal, but needs must.

Danny will appear in the next celebrity series of The Great British Bake Off, which raises money for the charity Stand Up to Cancer.

Featuring alongside Gabby Logan, Fern Brady and Mel B, Danny said the prospect of breaking his diet wasn’t a huge challenge, due to him enjoying savoury food more.

He previously said: ‘I am more of a savoury man to be honest. I don’t mind a bit of chocolate now and then, but I am not really a sweet man. So being in the tent doesn’t really affect my fasting.

EXCLUSIVE: Danny Dyer‘s range is continuing to expand as the Football Factory star lands himself a Channel 4 documentary series exploring modern masculinity.

Danny Dyer: How To Be A Man will see the EastEnders alum delve deep into the evolving landscape of masculinity. At a time when people are labeling masculinity “toxic,” Dyer, who made his name in a string of movies playing traditional “hard men” and also hosted Danny Dyer’s Deadliest Men for Bravo, will ask people across Britain what they think it means to be a man in our society, and what the future is for the male identity

The series from Whitworth Media will feature interviews with a politician, psychologists, a mental health expert, a fitness expert, a sex therapist, an influencer, male victims of domestic abuse, and members of the Brighton Gay Men’s Chorus to offer a range of voices and perspectives on this complex subject. Across the two episodes, Dyer will also explore gender stereotypes and male attitudes to mental health.

“As someone of a similar vintage to Danny it’s been fascinating, shocking but also inspiring “to travel the country talking to ‘geezers,’” said director James Routh. “It’s important that we have these conversations as a society, preferably face-to-face.”

Dyer starred in a string of movies including Human Traffic, The Football Factory and Mean Machine in the earlier part of his career. More recently he was in British soap EastEnders and since leaving has hosted BBC gameshow The Wall and Channel 4’s Scared of the Dark amongst other gigs, along with making a doc about Harold Pinter.

Dyer is also returning to football hooligan movies with Marching Powderthe first project for Zygi Kamasa’s recently formed UK distributor True Brit Entertainment.

Channel 4 is having a tricky time of it at the moment implementing a 250-person layoff plan but the network has announced a number of docs recently including a Riz Ahmed-hosted series about British Asians, a show on The Serpent serial killer Charles Sobhraj and a trio of films about Israel-Gaza.
