The Six have been narrowly avoiding having their murderous secret exposed for a number of weeks now in EastEnders, but one character appears to be onto them.

Recent scenes saw Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) finally get to visit wife Denise Fox (Diane Parish) in hospital, but he was shocked to see that Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) had already got there first.

This struck Jack as weird, seeing as Stacey had encouraged him to stay away.

Viewers will know that Johnny Carter (Charlie Suff) had encouraged Stacey to visit Denise in order to ensure that she didn’t reveal anything about Keanu Taylor’s death, though she couldn’t tell Jack this when he began to quiz her on why she was there.

Stacey made up excuses as to why she had visited, claiming that Denise had asked her to, but Jack was only left further confused when Denise told him to leave, insisting that she didn’t deserve protection after what she’d done.

Later, he confronted Stacey about his suspicions, claiming that he knew they were hiding something as their actions didn’t add up.

He pointed out how strong Denise was after everything she had been through in her life, and how he couldn’t understand why hitting Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry) had been the thing to drive her ‘over the edge’.

Jack argued that it was his job to be able to tell when people are telling the truth, and pointed out that both Denise and Stacey were clearly lying.

He revealed that it didn’t make sense that Denise didn’t think she deserved protection over hitting Nish, and that there must be something more to it.

However, Stacey managed to twist things and persuade Jack that Denise was growing suspicious of their affair, which was why she had asked Stacey to visit. With Jack growing suspicious of Denise and Stacey’s stories, could he be set to expose The Six?

Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) recently discovered that Denise Fox (Diane Parish) was the one to attack Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry) in EastEnders on Christmas Day, and he has now started to realise that The Six’s version of events don’t seem to add up.

Denise’s attack on Nish wasn’t the only dramatic thing to happen on Christmas Day, as shortly afterwards Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) murdered Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) to save Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean).

In a bid to protect each other, The Six came up with an elaborate cover up which involved framing Keanu for the attack on Nish.

After burying his body beneath the café, The Six told police that Keanu had attacked Nish and held them all at knife point before doing a runner.

The pressure of keeping the secret and the guilt of what they’d done weighed heavy on Denise, and caused her to experience a psychotic episode, which she was soon admitted to hospital for.

While she was hospitalised, Stacey revealed to Jack that it was Denise who had hit Nish, and he soon began to suspect that they were still hiding something, as this version of events didn’t add up to their police statements.

Almost as soon as Denise came home, Jack began to question her over the events of Christmas Day, revealing that he didn’t understand why Keanu would run off if he was innocent.

He also pointed out that his fingerprints were on the bottle Denise had used to attack Nish, which also didn’t make sense.

As Denise grew flustered, she told Jack she would tell him the full truth, and proceeded to reveal that she had attacked Nish because he was attacking Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal).

With this out in the open, Jack told Denise that she should confess, and they would argue reasonable force, but Denise was adamant that she couldn’t.

Viewers know that this is because of Keanu’s murder, but Jack couldn’t understand why she would want to keep it a secret, pointing out that it could affect his job.

Furious, Denise revealed that she hit Nish that hard because she had been riled up by her fights with Jack over the Christmas period, and made it clear that she didn’t like that he was putting his job before her.

In a bid to get him to drop the subject, she gave him an ultimatum: Forget about Keanu’s case and his job or lose her forever.
