EastEnders spoilers: Jack Branning pushes Denise Fox to confess as he pulls apart Keanu Taylor murder clues

Denise and Jack stood in their living room upset in EastEnders

Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) recently discovered that Denise Fox (Diane Parish) was the one to attack Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry) in EastEnders on Christmas Day, and he has now started to realise that The Six’s version of events don’t seem to add up.

Denise’s attack on Nish wasn’t the only dramatic thing to happen on Christmas Day, as shortly afterwards Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) murdered Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) to save Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean).

In a bid to protect each other, The Six came up with an elaborate cover up which involved framing Keanu for the attack on Nish.

After burying his body beneath the café, The Six told police that Keanu had attacked Nish and held them all at knife point before doing a runner.

The pressure of keeping the secret and the guilt of what they’d done weighed heavy on Denise, and caused her to experience a psychotic episode, which she was soon admitted to hospital for.

While she was hospitalised, Stacey revealed to Jack that it was Denise who had hit Nish, and he soon began to suspect that they were still hiding something, as this version of events didn’t add up to their police statements.

Almost as soon as Denise came home, Jack began to question her over the events of Christmas Day, revealing that he didn’t understand why Keanu would run off if he was innocent.

He also pointed out that his fingerprints were on the bottle Denise had used to attack Nish, which also didn’t make sense.

As Denise grew flustered, she told Jack she would tell him the full truth, and proceeded to reveal that she had attacked Nish because he was attacking Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal).

With this out in the open, Jack told Denise that she should confess, and they would argue reasonable force, but Denise was adamant that she couldn’t.

Viewers know that this is because of Keanu’s murder, but Jack couldn’t understand why she would want to keep it a secret, pointing out that it could affect his job.

Furious, Denise revealed that she hit Nish that hard because she had been riled up by her fights with Jack over the Christmas period, and made it clear that she didn’t like that he was putting his job before her.

In a bid to get him to drop the subject, she gave him an ultimatum: Forget about Keanu’s case and his job or lose her forever. Will Jack choose life with Denise, or will he finally get to the bottom of The Six’s killer secret?

EastEnders’ The Six found themselves struggling to hide their killer secret once more on Thursday night.

Linda Carter, Stacey Slater, Kathy Beale and Suki Panesar were panicked as they were gathered for a meeting by Denise Fox, while Sharon Watts is still in Australia. Last time most of the women saw Denise she was suffering from psychosis and struggling with her mental health, as the guilt over the events of Christmas Day took their toll.

Denise ended up being sectioned amid the other women fearing she would expose their murder cover-up. Linda killed Keanu Taylor on Christmas Day, and the women buried his body under the floor of the café.

Prior to his death, Denise had attacked Nish Panesar and almost killed him, as she tried to stop him from hurting his wife Suki. Nish survived, and the women claimed that Keanu attacked him before going on the run.

But Stacey blurted out to her secret fling and Denise’s husband Jack Branning that Denise attacked Nish in a recent episode, trying to explain why Denise has fallen apart. She had no support from the other women around this time, who were too busy trying to cover their tracks and were distancing themselves from Denise.

On Thursday after Denise was discharged from hospital, she looked to the future. But she was soon confronted by Jack after Stacey had revealed how she told him the truth.

While she kept out the stuff about Keanu, it was enough to send detective Jack back to the police station to trawl through the evidence from Christmas Day. He wanted to know why all of the women lied about Keanu, and why he apparently went on the run.

In fact, Jack urged Denise to confess her crime to the police fearing Keanu would return and expose his wife, also risking his job. Of course he has no idea Keanu is dead and can’t reveal what really happened.

But amid Denise and the others fearing Jack knows too much and might find out what really happened, there was another scene that perhaps hinted The Six have disbanded. It could lead to one woman in particular exposing what really happened, after weeks of being unsupported and left to fend for herself.
