George Knight (Colin Salmon) is set to leave Walford after making a big decision, following his dad’s murder revelation in EastEnders.

Not long ago, George discovered that his adopted parents had lied to him about his heritage, having allowed him to believe that his birth parents were Jamaican for most of his life.

When George learnt that his adoption had come after a process called child farming, which was more common among African parents, his mum Gloria Knight (Elizabeth Counsell) admitted that his parents were actually from Ghana.

That wasn’t the only revelation George’s adopted parents had for him, as he soon discovered that dad Eddie (Christopher Fairbank) was set to stand trial for a racially motivated murder.

After confronting Eddie about the attack, George learnt that the victim was actually his biological father, leaving him with even more questions about his biological family.

This new revelation has left George feeling down – something that hasn’t gone unnoticed by daughters Gina and Anna (Francesca Henry and Molly Rainford).

In a bid to cheer him up, Gina booked flights to Jamaica for a family holiday, though, given what he now knows about his true heritage, George was adamant that they weren’t going.

When he confided in Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) about the trip and the DNA results he was waiting for, she encouraged him to tell the girls the truth about his ancestry, pointing out that not telling them would be the same as how Gloria and Eddie hid the truth from him.

A mystery woman steps into George Knight’s (Colin Salmon) life next week following his search to learn more about his heritage in EastEnders.

Viewers of the BBC soap have seen George’s relationship with his estranged adoptive father Eddie (Christopher Fairbank) following the revelation that he was responsible for the murder of his birth father Henry forty years ago.

He was told earlier this year that he was adopted from West Africa as part of a baby farming agreement in the 1960s, after originally believing he was Jamaican.

With Eddie’s court date fast approaching, George is left conflicted whether to give him a good character reference, which could lead the jury to believe that the murder of Henry wasn’t racially motivated.

In upcoming scenes, he’s left gutted to find that his DNA search to uncover the identity of birth mother hasn’t proved fruitful.

Eddie and adoptive mum Gloria (Elizabeth Counsell) offer to give him the information he desires – but there’s a catch.

During a tense confrontation at their flat, evil Eddie tells George that he knows who his mum is, and if he gives the false statement in court he’ll divulge.

Stuck between a rock and a hard place, he arrives at the court and clocks an unknown woman who is in the public gallery.

After the trial plays out, the woman makes her way to the bar of the Queen Vic and asks to speak with him – but who is she?

Could the woman be his mother?

George finally decided that he was going to stand his ground about cancelling the trip to Jamaica and telling the girls the truth about their heritage, until Gina dropped a bombshell.

When she revealed that she had spent £5000 on flights, George decided that he couldn’t go through with it, and instead agreed to go on the holiday after all.

Will Gina and Anna ever get to know the truth about their ancestry?
